Iron Sky
I watched the evening draw in
I watched the night time falling down
falling down,
I got accustomed to the gloom
until the sun crept in my room
in my room.
And as the daybreak
fell flat on it's face
the iron sky came creeping up behind
to take it's place
And the rain fell
like bullets from a gun
And the sky came
and swallowed up the sun
So I buttoned up my coat
and I want out for a walk
beneath the Iron Sky I felt the water in my shoes
I saw the light cut through the gloom
I stood atop the bridge
and watched them creeping home
down the river road

On the Edge
Has it been getting better or worse all the time
I had'nt realised that time had just been flying
Oh where an hour with you goes
and how the minutes drag between the times you call

Standing on the very edge of the rest of my life

How the bigger things begin to seem so small
And how the little things just kick me when I'm down
How a word from you can make me ten feet tall
And how a silence makes my insides twist and crawl

Sometimes
It's not just some misguided sense of responsibility
I have no delusions about the value of the things I say
And I wouldn't bother if I felt I really had nothing to add
I won't shut up because I'm scared that no-one really understands

And I appreciate it's not the only way we can communicate
But I fail to see your arguments validity
Opposite you stand with your head stuck in the sand
Hide behind your protection
Your protection

And what's your problem
And how the hell do you work it out
Is it all done with mirrors to pick a fight against yourself
You both take a part of the whole
And I don't know which is better or worse
You seem to cut things down to size
While I just want to know how they work

And I appreciate it's not the only way we can communicate
But I fail to see your arguments validity

So I speak up anyway
Though I sometimes make mistakes
And sometimes I'm misunderstood
And sometimes what I say does good
And sometimes is enough for me
